How can I find out about bank repo cars for sale?
July 6th, 2009 ~ Posted in: bank auctionsI am low on cash (after going through graduate school) and I am looking to my a decent car. I bought a car at a local auction once and was very successful! So I just thought of bank repo cars. Can you help me or point me a direction where I could find out some more about bank repo cars?
as the above poster said, most banks send their cars to auction, you might want to try credit unions in your area, good luck

You can contact your local bank to see if they have any inventory. Most banks send their cars directly to dealer auctions so they don’t keep them around long.
Public auctions are always high risk for finding a reliable car but you have to give up something to get a great price.
Before I’d go the auction route I’d obsessively search Craigslist for bargains from private sellers.

There are lots of resources out there, but this site pools most of them so you can check out not only bank repo cars but police seized ones as well or government surplus autos. GovernmentAuctions.org I used their site last year to track down 2001 Chevy Tahoe. It was in great condition and I only spent about 8K on it.

Most banks & credit unions sell their repos at dealer only auctions.
Some of the smaller ones try to "retail" them first but they usually are not reasonable on the price untill it gets to auction.
