The scheme was first revealed in 2004 by the then Prime Minister Tony Blair as one of a series of measures designed to combat terrorism.

“It’s said these measures are scaremongering, but the fact is that the threats faced by the country are real, ” Mr Blair said.

At that stage the Government planned that it would be compulsory for all British citizens to carry one.

Ministers have since decided that the scheme should be voluntary for Britons but compulsory for foreigners living and working in the UK.

Sky’s political correspondent Glen Oglaza said: “Today Mr Johnson mentioned ID cards would tackle a number of issues: ID cards, illegal working etc, but he did not mention terrorism.

“The whole idea was introduced by Tony Blair as one of the primary ways of combating terrorism.”

As recently as January, the then Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said that combating terrorism was a chief benefit of the scheme.

“Those benefits include increased protection against identity fraud for the individual and help in protecting our communities against criminals, illegal immigrants and terrorists trying to exploit multiple identities,” she said.

Shadow home secretary Chris Grayling said the Government was in chaos.

“They have spent millions on the scheme so far - the Home Secretary thinks it has been a waste and wants to scrap it, but the Prime Minister won’t let him. So we end up with an absurd fudge instead. This is no way to run the country.”

Dawn Welsh of Hillsboro, MO Arrested for Trespassing in Her Own Home After Supposed Mortgage Scam. Dawn Welsh knows her house was paid off. She received paperwork from the original mortgage company showing it was paid off. However through a fraudulent conversion of the mortgage, Wachovia Bank claimed authority of the mortgage and then claimed Welsh still owed on her home despite her having proof from the original bank that the note was paid in full.

Today, Hillsboro, Missouri police came onto her property and broke her door down to remove her from her property.
They used a battering ram to enter her home, despite her showing evidence that she owned the property. She had gone to court previously and showed a judge the mortgage was paid in full, and it is a record of the court.
However, these are desperate times for the fraudulent vampirian banksters and they will go after anyone they want, threatening innocent hard-working Americans at every turn. And to top it off the Hillsboro sheriff was an accomplice to this crime, executing the fraudulent crime and rubbing it in further by seizing all of the 54-year-old woman’s possessions.

When these mortgages are sold from the original mortgagee to another bank, an illegal conversion takes place. No valid contract is ever initiated between the mortgage holder and this new entity. In fact many people wind up in court after they are told they owe more money on their homes after a series of mortgages being pushed back and forth through the mortgage process.

Wachovia Mortgage took over the mortgage and said they weren’t going to honor the paperwork from the previous mortgagee and continued to harass this woman. So we have a woman with the proper papers showing her house is paid off with the police and the courts ignoring the paperwork.

Reporters from INFOWARS.COM were harrassed and threatened with arrest in downtown Kansas City, Missouri after filming the local branch of the private Federal Reserve building. Security guards working for the bank approached the reporters at a city park that houses the National WWI memorial and demanded that they provide their names and disclose why they were filming the building.

After Aaron Dykes refused to provide his full name, he was told to leave public property immediately or face arrest because the bank was concerned about what he was filming– despite the fact that the female security guard repeatedly admitted he had done nothing wrong.

In the face of Free Speech under the First Amendment, as well as common sense, the other reporter, Rob Jacobson was also told to leave despite complying with the request to provide his name. “Officer Booth”, the female private security guard for the Federal Reserve, dared to pronounce that he was “guilty by association.” When this reason was challenged, the stupified “Officer Collins” told reporters that they were not to ask anymore questions and should in fact leave immediately.

What jurisdiction they had– if any– is unclear, as the cameramen were approached on city property.

The Federal Reserve– who have branches at some 38 locations across the country– have repeatedly trampled on the rights of free speech and attempted to challenge anyone daring to film their building. It is clear they regard any press as a threat.

It happened to an unaffiliated cameraman outside the Washington D.C. location who was told no filming of any ‘federal’ buildings was allowed under any circumstances unless special clearance was given by the Fed’s press office.

The stifling of free speech and the attempt to intimidate reporters and legitimate protesters is despicable.

The outrage over the privately owned bank has grown as more & more members of the public have realized that this entity– which has been given the power to print our money– is not a part of the U.S. government but a deception organization hiding behind the name “Federal.”

Rep. Ron Paul, among others, has led the effort to audit this unaccountable bank and end its ability to inflate the money supply, and ultimately to target its value. Its chairman Ben Bernanke has refused to tell Congress who it has lent money to, and in what amount– despite its relevance to dealing with the current financial crisis.

The compounding acts of secrecy– at the ground level and in the halls of the U.S. government– should sound alarm bells for the sleeping American people that this bank must no longer control the economic policies of this nation.

In the United States, it is often used to refer to a series of anti-tax state initiative campaigns. The first significant wave of these campaigns was during the 1930s. The Great Depression introduced unprecedented tax burdens to Americans. While real estate values plummeted and unemployment skyrocketed, the cost of government remained high. As a result, taxes as a percentage of the national income nearly doubled from 11.6 percent in 1921 to 21.1 in 1932. Most of the increase took place at the local level and especially squeezed the resources of real estate taxpayers. Local tax delinquency rose steadily to a still standing record of 26.3% in 1933.

Many Americans reacted to these conditions by forming taxpayers’ leagues to call for lower taxes and cuts in government spending. By some estimates, there were three thousand of them by 1933. Taxpayers’ leagues endorsed such measures as laws to limit and rollback taxes, lowered penalties on tax delinquents, and cuts in government spending. Partly as a result of their efforts, sixteen states and numerous localities adopted property tax limitations while three states instituted homestead exemptions.

While taxpayers’ leagues usually favored traditional legal and political strategies, a few were more direct. Probably the best known of these was the Association of Real Estate Taxpayers in Chicago. From 1930 to 1933, it led one of the largest tax strikes in American history. At its height, it had 30,000 paid members, a budget of $600,000, and a weekly radio show.

By 1933, the taxpayers’ leagues had entered a period of decline. Several factors undermined the conditions that had nurtured revolt. For example, economic conditions gradually improved, the federal government extended aid to homeowners, and local governments reduced reliance on real estate taxes. To some extent, the tax revolt also fell victim to an effective counterattack by municipal reformers, government officials, and the holders of municipal debt such as bondholders and bankers who formed so-called “Pay Your Taxes” campaigns throughout the country. These campaigns used a combination of door-to-door solicitation, threats of coercion, and inducements, such as installment payment plans, to collect back taxes.[1]

An alternative theory describing the decline of the taxpayers’ leagues is that laws limiting existing taxes and new tax revenues from the manufacture and sale of alcohol due to the repeal of prohibition eliminated the need for the taxpayers’ leagues.[2]
